2024年， IAG 再有新動作，對Wharfedale Denton 85th 進行了新的改進，Super Denton 終於到來，進一步逼近Linton 85th.
In year 2024, IAG England make a new move to improve the Wharfedale Denton 85th, and a 3-Way Super Denton finally arrived, further approaching Linton 85th.
What about Linton 85th vs Super Denton ??
Appearance :
Visually, both take a classic, minimalist approach that is understated but beautiful.
I bucked the trends on authetastic and say I like them., both meet mid century classic antique design, potential punters will like the design and attract by the finish.
Audition test 01 : matched with Kinki CHcoo Emei
The Super Denton sounded wonderfully warm and subtle, with crisp and clean vocal and gentle. By pushing the Emei to a slightly higher volume, the trashing guitars and drums did not worry the Super Denton a bit, it carried a serious presence, and a full indulgent speakers.
The Super Dentons are smaller alternative to the Linton 85th, ...small in stature but packs a mighty punch. It carried a weight and heft that easily filled the listening space. By Emei, Super Denton sounded more forward compare to Linton, and slightly better than Linton for female vocal Jazz. But, for rockLinton will be a winner. But don't underestimate Super Denton in a small listening area, they have a surprisingly amount bass.
Both Super Denton and Linton 85th are share the same DNA but still a bit difference.
Audition test 02 : matched with Audiolab 9000A
Super Denton has great depth and spaciousness , treble is great, as is delineation.i wished a bit more body or grit at the midrange, other from this, they sound rather good. Thanks to the additional midrange driver that's designed solely for vocal reproduction - it really can hear an improvement over a 2 Way in terms of clarity, detail and expressiveness. With slightly tuned up volume 9000A, I was impressed at the extension and cleaness of the bass for the size. Overall Super Dentons are greatly balanced, nice integration from the drivers.
For Linton, I noticed is more body and enveloping sound. But surprisingly, the punch was clearly less present or as deep as Super Denton, generally I was attracted to the Linton for it's sweetness.
Final words:
Overall I said Super Denton would make great in a smaller listening area.....they will pack a great punch and almost subwoofer-like bass with 9000A or Kinki Emei, which had plenty of power in reserve .....and clarity that the Linton reach IMHO, accounting for the bigger soundstage and midrange meat from the Linton's.
